WHY IS PSYCHOTHERAPY GOOD FOR YOU?

PSYCHOTHERAPY

It is a treatment whose objective is to help the person achieve greater emotional well-being, through changes in thoughts, behaviors and emotions.

It is carried out through a professional who with their training of their skills and their strategies allow a person or even a patient to find solutions to their problems that afflict them.

WHAT TYPES OF PSYCHOTHERAPY ARE THERE?

We can say that there are 4 branches of psychotherapy:

  • PSYCHOANALYTICAL THERAPY OR PSYCHOANALYSIS.
  • HUMANIST THERAPY.
  • COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY.
  • SYSTEMIC THERAPY.

Each of them has associated psychotherapies.

WHAT TYPES OF EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS SHOULD WE CONSIDER PSYCHOTHERAPY AS AN OPTION?

Life presents a series of situations to all of us,  such as depression, anxiety, stress, communication problems with the partner and with the children, among other alternatives.

Psychotherapy is an alternative when we have tried different solutions and these do not work for us, and we consider that the support of a professional can be very useful for our emotional well-being.

WHAT IS A SESSION OF PSYCHOTHERAPY?

A psychotherapy session depends on two factors:

  1. the population that is being directed.
  2. the specialty of the psychotherapist.

The vast majority of psychotherapy is conversational, which uses dialogue or conversation to resolve emotional situations in these patients or clients, this can be presented in individual, family, couple or group psychotherapy.

Managing an emotion does not mean that you always have to say everything you feel when you are upset. The first step for management is to recognize that in a thought there is an emotion, once that emotion is detected, ask yourself if it is just your appreciation of things, it means that that thought or that emotion has meaning for you and no one else, then you would have to work on it in therapy.

Management to remove anger and rag to empty yourself. If you continue to be angry or angry about what someone did to you, you will continue to experience anger and rage, your body reacts by generating hormones to continue fighting, fleeing, or paralyzing. Those hormones will eventually cause illness. So ask yourself, where will all that anger go that you have not been able to manage? Your body carries it in the form of symptoms.

PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH CHILDREN

Psychotherapy with children mainly works through games as a primary resource for the emotional state of children. Depending on the training of the psychotherapist, you can use different ones such as: hypnosis, exercises, visualizations, the interpretation of dreams, questionnaires, among other alternatives.
